Booked & Bewitched is an immersive fantasy event company that brings the magic of books, mythology, and imagination to life. Through elaborate story-driven experiences—like our signature book balls—we create unforgettable evenings where fantasy lovers can step into another world. But it’s more than just an event. We believe in building community around the things we love most—especially the ones that are usually experienced alone, like reading, gaming, or daydreaming about mythical lands. Booked & Bewitched is a place for lovers of fantasy, whimsy, and romance to connect, celebrate their passions, and feel part of something magical together.

No, we are an independent business inspired by the genres and themes we love. While our events are influenced by fantasy, romance, and mythology often captured in popular fiction series and games, we are not officially affiliated with any publisher or author.

We currently host events in North and South Carolina, with plans to expand. Each venue is carefully selected to match the tone and atmosphere of the event.

Persephone’s Grove: A Midwinter Fantasy Ball is an immersive, story-driven experience inspired by the myth of Persephone and Hades. It’s part elegant masquerade, part theatrical fantasy, and entirely unforgettable. You won’t just attend a themed party—you’ll step into a world where gods walk among mortals, shadows dance with springtime light, and every detail—from the music to the performances—is woven into a living narrative. Expect stunning costumes, myth-inspired décor, live entertainment, a bar fit for Olympus, and an atmosphere charged with romance and magic. Whether you're coming as a golden goddess, a brooding underworld dweller, or your favorite book character, this is your invitation to become part of a fantasy world—for one extraordinary night.

Many fantasy balls revolve around broad themes but Persephone’s Grove is something a little different. This isn’t just a theme—it’s a story. From the moment you arrive, you’ll be stepping into a living myth inspired by the tale of Persephone and Hades. Every detail—costumes, actors, performances, even the lighting and music—is woven into the unfolding narrative. You're not just attending a ball… you're becoming a part of a myth reborn.

The venue for Persephone’s Grove is a historic mansion tucked just outside Charlotte, chosen for its beauty and otherworldly charm—which also means it’s a bit remote. Guests will have several options: Chartered transportation: We’re offering an optional add-on shuttle service to and from a central Charlotte location (details coming soon). Uber or Lyft: Ride services can be scheduled to drop guests off, but we highly recommend pre-scheduling your return trip as pickups from the venue may be delayed or unavailable due to location. Designated driver or carpooling: If you plan to drive, please do so responsibly—and we always encourage carpooling with fellow fae.

All tickets are non-refundable, but they can be transferred or resold. If something comes up and you can no longer attend, you’re welcome to sell or gift your ticket to another guest. To help with this, we’ll be creating a ticket exchange channel in our Discord group where attendees can post availability or search for last-minute spots. Please note: Tickets cannot be transferred within one week of the event. This helps us finalize guest lists, vendor counts, and magical touches with care. If you’re transferring your ticket before that window, just send us an email with the new guest’s name at info@bookedbewitched.com so we can update our records.

Only if you want to! This is a choose-your-own-adventure kind of night. Some guests will come in character and play along with the unfolding story. Others may simply enjoy the ambiance, dancing, and stunning visuals. There’s no pressure to perform or participate in any way that makes you uncomfortable. You can be the main character of your own epic—or just a curious mortal wandering through a world not your own. Either way, you’re welcome.

Your ticket isn’t just admission—it’s an invitation into another world. The cost of your ticket helps bring this immersive fantasy experience to life in every way. It includes access to a breathtaking historic venue, complete with an enchanting terrace, vendor village, and newly-built pavilion; themed cocktails and elevated hors d’oeuvres; live performances woven into a myth-inspired storyline; interactive experiences; and countless magical touches designed to delight the senses. We’ve invested in elevated quality—from the food and drink to the decor, music, and storytelling—because we believe fantasy lovers deserve something extraordinary. This is more than a themed event—it’s a luxury escape into a world crafted just for you.

While it’s not required, dressing up is a huge part of the experience—and we highly encourage it! Think of it as stepping into a world where fantasy meets elegance.

The theme for this ball is inspired by Greek mythology with a dark romantic twist. Costumes and outfits can be as elaborate or simple as you’d like, but here are a few ideas to spark your imagination: A woodland nymph crowned in ivy and pearls A golden goddess draped in shimmering fabrics One of Hades’ creatures of the underworld—think shadows, smoke, and drama Persephone in full bloom or dressed as the Queen of the Underworld Hades in regal, shadowed armor or a modern, moody god of the dead If costumes aren’t your thing, no worries—elegant cocktail or formal attire with a nod to the theme (like gold accessories, dark florals, or celestial motifs) is always welcome.

Absolutely! Whether you’re channeling your favorite fae lord, moonlit queen, or dragon rider—this is a celebration of fantasy in all its forms. We love seeing how each guest brings their own story to the night.

Yes! We’ll be launching a private Discord group where guests can post costume inspo, get feedback, swap ideas, and hype each other up before the big night. Expect sneak peeks, style threads, and lots of excitement.

We do our best to accommodate major food allergies and dietary needs, including gluten-free, vegetarian, and nut-free options. When purchasing your ticket, you’ll be able to note any dietary restrictions so we can work with our catering team to prepare accordingly. Please keep in mind that while we take allergies seriously, food is prepared in shared kitchen spaces and we cannot guarantee a completely allergen-free environment. If you have a severe allergy, feel free to contact us ahead of time so we can discuss options and ensure you feel safe and cared for.

We do our best to ensure all venues are ADA-compliant. If you have specific needs, please reach out to us ahead of time and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate.

Yes! We love supporting local creators and authors. Expect a curated vendor village at our events, along with exclusive Booked & Bewitched merchandise.

Yes! One of our biggest hopes with Booked & Bewitched is to help build real community among fantasy lovers—and that means offering more than just one night of magic. In the weeks leading up to Persephone’s Grove, we’re planning a few optional local meetups and virtual gatherings, like: Costume creation hangouts (in person or on Discord) Book club-style chats about myths, romance, and lore Maker’s circles for those crafting or creating their looks Themed socials to meet fellow attendees These smaller moments are a great way to meet kindred spirits before the big night, especially if you're attending solo. We’ll announce these events on Instagram and in our Discord community—so stay tuned!
